Each month, 300 children in Louisiana are removed from the care of a parent.
Resources in the Community
Each one of these children are in need of a safe and secure place to stay. They are in need of refuge from the turmoil while the adults in their lives sort things through.
Foster families are desperately needed to provide a temporary home for these children, who through no fault of their own, find themselves facing difficult circumstances.
According to a November 2015 article in the New Orleans Times-Picayune statewide there are about 4,800 children in foster care and meanwhile there are only about 2,200 foster homes available.
For those willing to foster children, there are resources in the community available to assist them in providing a safe, stable environment for these children.
